Jesus Heals

Jesus’ life and ministry perfectly represented heart of the Father, including in healing.

“Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.” Jesus replied, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you?” (John 14:8–9, NLT).

“God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,” (Hebrews 1:1–3, NKJV)

Jesus is willing to heal.

“A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. “If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean,” he said. Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” Instantly the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed.” (Mark 1:40–42, NLT)

Jesus healed every individual who sought Him out for healing.

Mark 1:30-31Luke 5:18-25John 5:5-8Mark 3:1-6Matthew 5:8-13Mark 5:1-20Matt 9:20-22Luke 8:41–56Matt. 9:27–31Matt. 9:32–35Mark 7:24–30Mark 7:31–37Mark 8:22–26John 9Luke 14:1–6Luke 17:11–19Matt. 20:29–34

When Jesus ministered to crowds of thousands all present were healed.

This included every kind of person; the faith-filled, the doubting, the pure of heart, the sinful, the old and the young etc..

“But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.” (Matthew 12:15, NKJV).  See also Matthew 8:1614:3615:30Luke 4:409:11Acts 10:38.

Jesus hasn’t changed, He still heals.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, NLT

Jesus taught His followers to heal the sick.

The Twelve

“Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. . . . So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.” (Luke 9:1–6, NKJV)

The Seventy

“After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. . . . Whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you. And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’” (Luke 10:1–9, NKJV)

All believers

“And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”” (Mark 16:15–18, NKJV)

Jesus said to spread all His teaching (including to heal the sick) to all nations to the end of the age.

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18–20, NKJV)

Jesus followers continued his healing ministry after His ascension.

Mark 16:20Acts 3:1-105:15-168:5-89:33-359:40-4114:8-1016:1819:11-12Acts 20:9–1228:8-9

No diseases are beyond Jesus’ reach.

Psalm 103

Gifts of Healing are part of His church.

“And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.” (1 Corinthians 12:28, NKJV)

The prayer of faith will save the sick.

“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” (James 5:14–15, NKJV)

Sometimes healing is instant.

“Now as soon as they had come out of the synagogue, they entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. But Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and they told Him about her at once. So He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and immediately the fever left her. And she served them.” (Mark 1:29–31, NKJV)

Sometimes healing occurs as you go your way.

““As he entered a village there, ten lepers stood at a distance, crying out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy.” (Luke 17:12–14, NLT)

Sometimes ministry for healing needs to be repeated.

““When they arrived at Bethsaida, some people brought a blind man to Jesus, and they begged him to touch the man and heal him. Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village. Then, spitting on the man’s eyes, he laid his hands on him and asked, “Can you see anything now?” The man looked around. “Yes,” he said, “I see people, but I can’t see them very clearly. They look like trees walking around.” Then Jesus placed his hands on the man’s eyes again, and his eyes were opened. His sight was completely restored, and he could see everything clearly.” (Mark 8:22–25, NLT)

Our Vision:

  1. To see the sick, ill and injured healed and restored in the name of Jesus

  2. To establish Healing Rooms in every State and Territory in Australia

  3. To see the ministry of healing restored to the whole church
